started about 12:30 yesterday afternoon on madeira avenue in san jose.tayed inside and wouldn't come out. he was taken into custody without incident shortly after 2:00 a.m. >>> ride share safety certainly top of mind as lyft faces a new lawsuit and uber adds a new safety feature. bob redell is live in walnut creek to explain more. >> reporter: uber added this new safety feature called ride check. as you can see in this video released by the ride sharing service this ride check app basically lets you do three things. lets you know if the ride has gone off course, it will let you know if there's, it will activate if there's been a stoppage for an unusual amount of time, and it will also activate when you've been in a collision. something doesn't seem right, the ride check activates in the app and gives you and/or your driver letting uber know everything is okay and if it's not, you can use the emergency button, or report the issue to uber safety line. uber might follow up by phone and if there's a crash, uber can help expedite insurance claims. uber instal
