(grant) tonight the n-t--b is blaming california transportation officials for that deadly greyhound bus crash last year in san jose. this was on highway 101 in san jose. it was dark and raining at the time. the new report says the bus was exiting the freeway and because markings were old and worn or missing... the driver thought he was in the exit lane. it turns out he was not... and went up a barrier.. rolling the bus. the n-t-s-b says the barrier should have been visible... even in the bad weather... but it was not. the n-t-s-b faults the state for not properly marking the roadway. also, investigators say the bus had seatbelts but only two of the 21 passengers were wearing them. the two passengers who died in the crash were not belted, and were thrown from the bus. 13 other people were hurt in the crash. to read that report in its entirety...we've posted it on kron4.com.
