police in san jose are searching for the person who shot a gun multiple times in the downtown area last night. the bullets shattered several windows on the san jose state campus. jackie ward is live near the scene in san jose this morning. jackie, where does the investigation stand right now? >> reporter: the shooter is still out there. police are doing everything they can to locate that person. right now, there is yellow tape, as you can see behind me. we are in front of the martin luther king, jr., library at san jose state. witnesses tell us they heard five gun shots around 6:21 last night. at least two of those bullets hit windows here at the library, shattering them, destroying them really. three other bullet holes of the parking garage half a block away. also seven or eight stories high. no one was hurt or hit by one of the bullets. university police issued an alert shortly before 7:00 p.m. and told people to avoid the area. in the library when it happened. >> they are like, you can't go through the front, there's a shooting going on. they redirected us toward the back of the library. >> this is the incident involving a gun at san jose state in a

well the 21 year-old charged after a shooting at san jose state university now faces up to life in prison on 13 felony counts. prosecutors say that joseph asensio he entered a parking garage connected to city hall last week. at the doctor martin luther king junior library, he fired 10 shots. nearly hit or student inside of that library, he's being held at the santa clara county main jail without bail. well to the east bay oakland police arrested a man after they say that he attack someone with a machete wednesday morning. his name has not been released. but the attack happened near west macarthur boulevard and broadway look at that. police have not provided an update yet on the victim's condition. coming to san francisco. the sfmta approved the next phase of the powered scooters shares share permit program and over the last year the program gave permits to 2 companies too allowed 2100 scooters in the eastern sections of the city. so the new round of permits will be issued to 4 additional the scooter companies for up to 4,000 scooters so those extra scooters will allow the city allow the c
