san jose, where police are investigating a homicide. it happened about five hours ago near the san jose state campus.re actually were two separate shootings. we have video of the scene sent to us by one of our news producers that happened just before 3:00 this morning. we were able to see one person being taken into an ambulance. this all happened near the intersection of east san carlos and south 4th streets. as i mentioned, it borders the san jose state campus. police did confirm with us that one person was killed. there's the person going into the ambulance. we're not sure their condition at this time. interestingly, a second shooting happened just about a block away, and that shooting involved a police officer. we were able to see in this video someone in handcuffs. police have not indicated whether the two shootings are related. as you saw just a moment ago, streets are still closed around the san jose state and downtown areas while police investigate. this is now san jose's fourth homicide of 2022. >>> and we have new video this morning showing the moment a film crew from canada was robbed at g

block of south fourth street right at east santa claus , right by san jose state university by the boccardo gate or arches by the campus. there was a homicide there. that's why police were in the area of the police say they normally have a presence in the downtown area during the weekends and what they call the entertainment district of san jose. anyway there was a homicide there, man was shot and killed right on the 100 block of south fourth street officers investigating that. the report from that scene was that the gunman. shot and killed a person and then ran off gun in hand. so officers are a canvassing that scene be looking for this gunman who has presumably armed and dangerous, then the fight breaks out at the restaurant, which is roughly 800 ft. diagonally from the crime scene. they see people streaming out of the restaurant screaming , some saying there's a fight and there's a gun. officers respond, obviously thinking that the gunman from the homicide could be in the area they get to the steps of the to korea, and that's the cell video that we've been showing you the past day or so that shows officers coming up

san jose state university. that's what you need to know. it happened near the campus on south 4th. >> an east san carlos street, they came to the scene shortly before 3 o'clock in the morning. they saw a person had been shot. they close that area down. did their investigation, then all of a sudden 30 minutes later, they saw people running from a restaurant just one block down the road. also. >> on san carlos street. so they race over to that particular scene. that's when they saw a person with the gun. something happened. they didn't go into details. but something happened that compelled the officers to open fire on this particular person. here's a witness talking about that. we see a cop. >> you know, willing a gun like this on the steps of the biggest risk aiming at the suspect. all right. hi, i'm like just like a step or 2 further door inside the door. and then all you hear is 3 shots the shooter, everyone scatters. i'm going to be rethinking everything olympics and there, you know, like just grabbing some food right across the street from, you know, where we stay.
