they held a peace march after a week of deadly shootings there in san josi.ktvu's allie rasmus talked to the demonstrators about their mission. >> reporter: the morning began with sunrise ceremony to remember the victims of san josi's recent violence. >> it's out of hand. we needed to come together, you know? culturally, you know, spiritual will you, we needed to come together. >> reporter: the group organized a day of action for peace. there have been 33 homicides in san josi this year, fueled in part by what police say is a gang war on city streets. it's time for us to stand up as one person, one people, so we can take our streets back, our parks back. >> save our streets! save our children! >> reporter: after the prayer circle the group set out for a 6-mile march to roosevelt park. they want to organize more cultural events so that neighbors can come together and work tot a community-wide solution to the violence. >> that is what we need to do is get these young kids out of these gangs and teach them their culture and where they came fromment san josi poli

the 30-year-old woman from san josi died at scene. another victim was hospitalized with minor injuries. >>> new video of a fatal accident on interstate 580. investigators say the driver swerved to cross all lanes of traffic to take the tracy cutoff. officers say the car pub out and hit a light pole. a chp spokesman says the two men in the front seat are alive because they wore seatbelts. the man in the backseat who was not wearing one died at scene. >>> a san francisco bart station was shut down, causing major delays after a man was struck by an incoming train. a bart spokesman says the train operator sought man on the tracks and tried to stop, but says there wasn't enough time. >> it's not clear why the person was in the trackway. bart police are investigating and hopefully they are able to interview the person, should the injuries permit that. >> officials have not released the celebrity of the victim's injuries. the accident forced many trains going to the east bay to turn back. trains from stations south of glen park ran through w
