mid 50s here now for san francisco. let's check a couple other locations. there is more sunshine in the south bay. san jose, your number is 60 now, a couple degrees warmer than the city. that would make sense. when we look at where we are going from today's daytime highs, pick your part of the bay. santa rosa, mid 90s. pleasanton is going to 90, 80 san jose, fremont 77. this is one of the warmer days of the next seven days. we saw that trend play out when we looked for concord. we'll see it pretty much bay area wide. that's where we will be wednesday. if we look at the micro climates for that, oakland, you will stay around 70 pretty much for the next seven days. not a lot of change for that. north bay valleys, those are your numbers. you have to do low to mid 90s today and tomorrow. then it is mid 80s. san jose you are doing around 80, a couple days fall to the upper 70s by friday and saturday. this was the line that we looked at to start things with 80s next weekend inland. what's going on on the drive? >>> a lot of brake lights. we found a couple hot spots

so chilly start to the morning and 61 in the santa clara valley and near san jose. let's take a quick look at the marine layer. stubborn for us for our wednesday forecast. going down to the santa clara valley. it's lot lower for us closer to the peninsula and just into the mouth of the bay. this is all the way into lunchtime now. very cloudy setup for us along the coast today. partly cloudy skies from the coast into the bay with temperatures silting this afternoon only in the low 60s. that's right where we should be for this time of year and we even have summer weather for us in the inland areas with 90s this afternoon but i just mentioned a heat wave. another heat dome to the south and we've been talking about this term a lot. a huge area of high pressure that's going to warm you all of us not just here in the bay area but all throughout california and nevada and even over into utah as we head into this weekend's forecast. really at times out to be friday and saturday as some of the warmest days of this week. alameda alean we're talking about 70s quickly turning into 80s

dealing with major triple digits from phoenix over into las vegas and all the way down into san diego area too. so let'slook at san jose for us today. one of the warmer spots. today, tomorrow, heading into the next couple of days the warmest we're going to get is only into the mid and low 80s in the forecast. let's head all the way over intodayly city now. a very similar trend. then we cool down next week. so here's what we're looking at for the next seven days. sunny skies for the most part especially in the inland areas and upper 80s and lower 90s and i'll take that any day of the week. 60s along the coast where the clouds are going to be little bit longer with 80s near from the north bay all the way down into the santa clara valley. this is beautiful weather to get out there and really take advantage of it. i mean if you have a favorite trail that you want to go to, meaning to take the bike out of the garage for some time and even just want to take the kids to the park for a little bit. this is the forecast to do so. a little breezy in the afternoon hours. but other than that, i mean 60s and 70s for

be a hot day, and the ice cream will be good, hot for the inland areas but not so much for san francisco. let'st a look at our microclimates. it's clear in doubling as we get started. it's a nice and mild start to the day. then we see the fog over san francisco. this is what is going to help keep the city cool over the next few days. also protecting it from that inland heat as we see that from our sutro tower camera. los gatos heading back to 87 degrees. 93 in morgan hill, and we were hitting the low 90s yesterday and we will repeat that today. concord reaching a high of 92 degrees. 75 in oakland. you can see the range in temperatures over a short distance. half moon bay, 61. head over to palo alto, it will be 83 degrees. for san francisco, mostly 60s around the city. for the north bay reaching up to 96 in clearlake while we will mostly see upper 80s and low 90s there. for the weekend we have an excessive heat warning for these areas in pink. that starts tomorrow and continues through sunday and in some of these spots we could reach near 100 degrees and increase the risks of heat-related illnes

morning. 50s throughout the bay area and # 4 right now up in santa rosa and 55 in the heart of san francisco. let's take a quick look at the air quality. heading into this afternoon a stronger onshore flow is that's already helping the air quality this morning. that sea breeze is giving us some fresh air along the coast and we're kind of in a moderate category just down into the santa clara valley. but looking at models, that will improve as that onshore flow continues to sweep in. what's happing heading into the rest of this week? we have low pressure continuing to dip in from the north. that's going to allow cool air to move in from the gulf of alaska and cool us off heading into the rest of the week but then slowly move out and we'll see a big change heading into the next week. that's the reason why temperatures are staying below average for now. for the most part actually. i mean take a look at san francisco alone. listee until next week where we warm starting up into the 70s but inland areas, let's take brentwood for example. such a contrast. if you ask me. i mean around average into the rest
