that play forward one more time. 84 degrees in san jose. let's talk about what happens over the next seven days, the numbers are going to climb, you will be looking at temperatures in the mid-90s. in san jose on saturday and sunday and because of that, if you take a look at where the heat risk is, this is the part of the bay where the national weather service is spotlighting for the locations where you need to be aware, it is going to be hot enough when we get to saturday, if you are shaded in orange, you have that added risk of additional heat related health impacts. so go easy on yourself. let's take a closer look. everywhere on the map that is in yellow on here, it is pretty much most of the bay with the exception of the immediate sure, so if you look at the city, the peninsula and the east bay shore, you are not included. everywhere else on the map is and those are the places you want to keep in mind. an excessive heat watch is slightly more significant on the importance level, they put this out yesterday already. this will go into effect on

even though you look out here in the sky cam and see those blue skies in san francisco. let me show you all the different players that we're watching. look, i think the number one headline for tomorrow is we are going to get some cooler air moving from the pacific, and that's also going to set up the fog at the coastline. the other thing this pattern is going to do against the west coast is push the hot area of high pressure back over arizona. so they stay in the heat, but the other thing we're going to be tracking is the circulation around that area, high pressure. i told you there was a lot happening here. it's also pulling in a little bit of some more humid air, and that is firing off some thunderstorms here through parts of california. we saw a few of those forecast changes this past weekend, and some thunderstorms pop up, and that really is primarily what we're dealing with. a closer look at the radar will show most thunderstorm activity remains to the south and the east of us, 14 lightning strikes over the past three hours. this right here is just some ground clutter,

things are getting a little better on the san mateo bridge. 831 let's go back to the headlines. eared 28 in san francisco. the san francisco fire department says flames were first reported at 315 today. fire crews use the department's fire boats to put out. the fire was fully contained by 5 a.m. no injuries here in the cause of this fire is still under investigation. happening today, the berkeley city council will discuss a plan to add more than 50 license plate reader cameras to streetlights and roads across the city. berkeley police say the cameras will help reduce crime, but other city groups say they have concerns about this technology. ctv's allie rasmus joins us live to explain the debate. allie andre, according to the city of berkeley's crime database, auto thefts are up 94% from a year ago. more than 126 vehicles stolen from this city so far this year. the berkeley police department says they would have an easier time tracking down the people who steal some of those vehicles if they have this license plate reader technology throughout the city. other civilian groups here
