we finally can show you what the san lorenzo river looks like. earlier it was raining so hard it kept blowing out all the lights. so now you can see that the water is moving very swiftly. this river is at 8.5 feet. by 4:00 this afternoon, it's expected to reach 21.5 feet, which is considered a major flood stage. now yesterday swift water rescue crews had to brave that river to pull the body of the man from the water. we now know he's a 46-year-old man from ben loman. the coroner won't be able to say if he drowned until an autopsy is done later this week. this happened behind dick sergeant's home. >> we were standing here and were looking at two trees close together down there, and it appeared there was a body. and we called 911. >> reporter: so it will be critical for folks to stay away from this river and other local streams in the bay area because they are all going to rise very quickly. kari hall and the nbc bay area weather team are forecasting five to ten inches for the santa cruz mountains to push the san leandro river to major flood stage.
