we have issues along the san lorenzo river right now because it is rising. kland exceeded two inches of rain over the past 24 hours, san francisco more than an inch. santa rosa four inches, nearly that in richmond and palo alto closing in on one inch. live doppler 7, i want to track this downpour that will move on shore. it is slowly pushing north and east at about 20 miles per hour. the northern edge of san francisco around 5:26, vallejo around 6:24 expected downpour. into the sierra, look how much rain is falling. rain is falling in southlake and blue canyon, the snow elevations are high. back at home, it is muggy. dew points were in the 50's and a lot of spots, it feels tropical because of the atmospheric river. temperatures are elevated, upper 50's to near 60 in the warmest thoughts. a flood watch in effect until 10:00 a.m. sunday. we will keep showers in the forecast through 9:00 a.m., get a brief break midday. more rain is on the way later tonight in the upcoming weekend, we will talk about that. sue: we have road closures and we have high winds on the

we've been talking about this, the san lorenzo river. they had trouble that with the last storm system. and guess what? they're going to have again, likely going to see some flooding there as we head toward tomorrow. now forecast to crest at near major flood stage of 21.6 feet by tomorrow. some point in the afternoon. the winds. yeah, you bet. wind warnings going up across the bay area. i think especially along the coastline to some of the mountain gaps. and boy, some of the mountaintop special on the coast ranges above about 1000 feet or so. we talk about 50, maybe some 70 mile an hour gusts. plus, so that's certainly going bring down some power lines. watch here in the forecast. models winds already beginning to come up on the south. not too bad just yet, but they're going to ramp up after midnight tonight by tomorrow morning. yes, could be a loud morning. some of those gusts over 50 miles per hour along the coastline. get the idea those kind of gusty winds are likely going to bring down power lines and likely going to bring down many

one river watch very closely as the san lorenzo river right now. the latest forecast has that cresting at just over 20 to 3 feet. that would be a major flood along the san lorenzo river in the santa cruz mountains. so watch that very closely as are going to see a lot of rain coming down in the next 48 hours. winds also an issue. we've got wind advisories going up, expecting winds 20 to 30 miles an hour to see power outages around the bay area scattered about we see trees coming down the ground is saturated. trees will be coming down in numerous spots, too many to count around the bay area. watch out for that, too. is these winds could be gusting over 50 miles an hour in some spots tonight. winds not all that bad watches hits, which though overnight of a southerly direction, then it starts to ramp up tomorrow morning, some 20 some 30 mile an hour gusts. and then as we head through the day, watch what happens in the afternoon. all the colors really begin to roll in. we start to see some of those gusts over 50 miles an hour near the coastline and even

lingering showers and light conditions, but close to santa cruz alone, the san lorenzo river is under a flash flood advisory for the next couple of hours. flood warning until further notice. all throughout those areas, we have seen heavy downpours this morning but look at future cast. it really starts breaking apart. cloudy skies stick around and we could see a shower here or there through the 8:00 hour tonight. let's take a look at tomorrow. tomorrow morning it starts off light. heavy showers close to noon. this will continue to track to the east and here we go into sunday. very similar setup, but a lot more severe, especially in the morning hours. pretty much any day this weekend if you have an outdoor plan, keep an indoor plan as your plan b, especially with sunday's forecast looking like this. overnight, lingering showers. it will taper off heading into monday and it will ramp up for tuesday's forecast. as we look at our seven-day forecast, you see some rain icons, but how will that impact us? this weekend, like i said, any outdoor plans, keep a plan b. be careful on the roads. we

that would be a major flood along the san lorenzo river. right now is currently sitting at 60. so it's got a long way to rise. but you get all that rain coming in a short amount of time and that will cause some problems. not only that the winds are going to be an issue. power outages, 20 to 30 mile an hour sustained winds gusting to 50, probably even higher than that across some of our mountain peaks. in fact, some of those gust, our models even picking up some stronger winds. but overnight tonight, well, it's fairly calm out there right now by tomorrow morning. you're noticing the winds start to ramp up a bit. and then as we head through the morning hours, you see a shift out of the south here as a front gets a little bit closer and by noontime, you're starting to see some 30, maybe some 40 mile an hour gusts by the afternoon. it's rip it. we're talking 40 50 mile an hour gusts. look at the models picking up on a 56 mile an hour gust in half moon bay. well, we've seen a lot of the damage in el granada. so we're watching out for that very c

a flood warning for the san lorenzo river md pajaro rivers. the full look at the forecast, coming up in a few minutes. >> in san francisco, reports of falling glass triggered a -- triggered evacuations. our reported joins us now with the latest. reporter: this is a very unusual event that the building management has never dealt with. the san francisco fire department rarely deals with this kind of event. this happened right after about 2:20 p.m. in the afternoon, a window blew out on the 42nd floor. another window, i am told, cracked due to the very windy conditions. most of the glass shards fell on the ground. what they did was immediately close the streets, cordoned off this entire area around the bank of america building. fortunately, no one was injured. the people inside the building and surrounding buildings were told to shelter-in-place, because the last thing they want is for all these people to evacuate while glass is fallen from above. let's listen to jonathan baxter from the san francisco fire department. >> one window did break out o

quieter compared to what you'll be encountering as you drive up into the santa cruz mountains, san lorenzo river. you remember flooded during those january storms. we do have that risk of flooding there as well. in addition to some really strong winds in the santa cruz mountains that could be resulting in some loss of power. now for the north bay. we do also have some pockets of heavy rain and solano county, sonoma county on up, especially right now in lake county, that area of heavy rain that you had seen in santa rosa now clearing further north in that direction. flood watches for the entire bay area. not to mention the surrounding region, too. these will continue through tonight. those areas of red that you're seeing up in mendocino county as well as up in the sierra nevada foothills in down along the central coast. these are areas where flooding is already been active. and of course, this excessive rainfall is just going to add to those existing issues. the second problem going on here is the very strong winds, half moon bay, 50 plus mile per hour gust winds intensifying even further o
