we are talking about hurricane newton as they came on shore near cabo san lucas., pushing up into the gulf of california. look at all this moisture here that it is streaming out into phoenix and albuquerque and el paso that it will be a really explosive combination. all the moisture is going up to omaha and that this hurricane moisture as the hurricane will fall apart that it will be pushing up to the central plains. that is going to create some volatile weather over the next two to three days. so the afternoon thunderstorms, they are certainly a real possibility throughout the plains. the fog along our coast are just offshore right now that it will be trying to reform, but we've got to set it up where there will be a lot of northerly winds aloft keeping them from establishing themselves and that is why those temperatures today that they came up 5-8 degrees. 91 in fairfield and 90 in concord and that it took a little bit of a hit too that you could look out to barely see mount diablo here and that there will be smoke from the fire that will be filtering in getting

we have hurricane newton that moved through cabo san lucas this morning, moving up into central baja, california. it's spinning off choiceure. there's -- spinning off moisture. that's going to combine with the heat of the day to build storms up. you have plenty of time to get out and about and do what you want to do if you don't want to worry about storms. it will be well after 4:00 that we begin to get thunderstorms down here. it looks like they will be lasting until at least sunset and performance a little later locally heavy downpours. it might not be at your house, but in about an 8-10-mile radius, there will be downpours of rain. 70s to near 80s for a high and 60s and 70s in the mountains. storms down south, especially the ones i pointed out minutes ago. those are going to help kickoff new storms in southeasten colorado, and that will destabilize things here on the front range and knock out a few storms going ug afternoon. so, a few, just a few, a handful of moderate to heavy storms down here, progressively more than those as you go farther to the north and east. we're all in a t

baja peninsula, and that brought some rough weather, winds up to 186 kilometers per hour in cabo san lucas, i do want to show you some video coming out of a similar area here in los cabos, some rough conditions through the overnight hours. light to moderate rain luz reported through these areas. nothing like the devastation that this area saw two years ago. also this is kind of the low season as far as hotels in that region, popular tourist attractions are concerned so a lot of them were not completely booked up. so lots of impact on people, no casualties were reported from the storm. we still have hurricane warnings in place along coastal areas and stretching across the bay there. but it does look like it's going to continue to weaken out as we look al the forecast, still some heavy rainfall in parts of arizona and new mexico. usually about 40 millimeters or 50 millimeters, back towards the north, we also have some thunderstorms blowing up along the western great lakes, even in chicago, if you have any travel plans across this area, likely to see some thunderstorms on wednesday. here's yo
