from gilroy to san martin, it really bad this morning. the fog will burn off on the peninsula by right around 12:00 to 1:00. because we're starting out so mild, temperatures will climb easily into the mid 70. we've got rain on the way. we'll talk about that coming up. first we want to check on your drive and see how that fog is impacting commuters. mike knows better than anyone. >> i left the house early, got here at the same time because i had to drive slower through some of the areas. that meant i had to drive the speed limit. that's between you and me folks. there's this blanket of low clouds we talked about on friday. look at the san mateo bridge. the cloud are starting to creep in. for a while we couldn't see the high rise section, now we're losing a little visibility on the flat section. there is fog in patches that we just showed you. so keep that in mind. typically flow coming out of the tri-valley. no real issues other than that fog. we'll show you the north bay and here on the peninsula we see flashing lights of the ikea parking

so it's going to feel the way it should for november 4th. 43 in san martin. good morning to you, san carlos. you're waking up at 48 degrees. that is cold enough for a jacket. as you're putting the little ones together for school this morning, make sure that they are ready for the two different parts of the day. it's going to be chilly for the first part and nice and warm and sunny all across the board later on today. let's talk about what's going on on your satellite image rye right now. a couple things to point out. you'll notice here clouds arcing up and around a big ridge of high pressure, these showers colliding as that ridge high pressure sets up. what's also happening is high pressure moves in and compresses everything, forces it right to the surface and as a result we get that thick fog but it's not going to last long. it should be clearing between by about 9:00 and 10:00. we are losing visibility right now on the peninsula and in san francisco so please travel cautiously, a nice sunny finish between 10:00 and noon. full sunshine for the entire bay area
