kron 4's charles clifford has the details. well, here in san mateo county hundreds of human services employees were out on strike. now, these are workers with the american federation of state county and municipal employees. they are asking for a new contrac with the county. these workers being out on strike has had an impact on services in the county, mainly the health division . the county has said that it may need to centralize services during the strike. close some of the smaller offices.now, workers here say that they want a new contract. 10 other unions have recently reached agreements with the county but this union has not. there are multiple sticking points.sotwe had many proposals on the table that could just not be met by the county. things like case load standards, worker to supervisors ratios, like voluntary time off. the ability to do that, telecomuting which other members of the county work force are able to do. these are just basic working standards that we would like to have as part of our jobs. finally, it's unlcear when the union and county will return to negotiations
