we begin with developing news from san jose where a teenager has been shot and killed. ktvu's matt killer arrive on if scene just about 20 minutes ago so matt what can you tell us about what you learned so far. >> frank, i just spoke with the san jose police department spokesperson and he told me that the victim was found right past these police cars up here and too the right there on fair haven drive. he told me the first call came in around 3: 3:20 as a car accident and paramedics found a 16-year-old near a vehicle. police told me it appears it was a gunshot wound and likely a homicide. the body is still here on the scene as officers investigate. this is the city's 44th homicide of the year making it a 20 year high for san jose. we'll of course continue to get the latest information on this case and bring you the details tonight on the 10:00 news, reporting live in san jose, matt keller, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> developing news now in just the last 30 minutes we have learned two people were killed and a third person was injured in a shooting at a busy shopping mall in clackamas.

they are concerned about more potential flooding from the san fransesquito creek. kcbs radio's mattler joins us live from east palo alto. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. you can bet that folks here in east palo alto will be closely monitoring the san fransesquito creek after what happened on sunday. it was on sunday just before christmas that the san fransesquito creek overtopped its banks and sent floodwaters down these streets here in east palo alto. that floodwater came dangerously close to homes and garages. there was furious sandbagging and some evacuations. >> kids didn't wake up in the morning thinking they are going to have to help their parents clean out their front yards and, you know, clean up the cars. they wanted to go outside and play with their gifts. >> reporter: yeah, about 40 families were evacuated as a result of that flooding. the good news is, crews from the city, from the california conservation corps and even volunteers, they swooped in, they did some sandbagging and repaired that portion of the san fransesquito creek that was flooding and folks were

san francisco street. these are the two officers, matt cloud and steve gritch, both from the bayview department. at 2 a.m. they were called about a woman bleeding outside the providence shelter on third and mckinnon. when they approached they didn't find the woman but, instead were flagged down by a man cradling a newborn baby. that baby was not responsive. these officers are both fathers and knew that the baby wouldn't make it if they didn't act. the ambulance they called could take 15 minutes to arrive so instead officer cloud drove to the hospital while officer grit ch performed cpr. >> having two young children i know what a baby should look like when it's first born and this baby, there was no movement, no screaming, no crying. >> as we were driving there, i wasn't really worried about it yet, you know, i was kind of focused on it. when we got here, i lost it. >> and the baby is okay. he was treated at san francisco general hospital. as for the mother, she was later found and also treated and will likely be charged with abandonment. these officers are being hailed as heroes and they both cr
