san diego. a group of animal rights activists demand to know what happened. good morning, miguel reporter: david, good morning. the killer whales have been a major attraction here but it's an injury to one of the whales that has peta filing a complaint against the usda. the pictures are hard to look at. according to peta, these photos were taken by a tourist on september 27, and show a deep penetrating gash on an 11-year-old whale at sea world san diego. citing other pictures taken this weekend, peta claims the whale was hurt during an altercation with other whales and filed a complaint with fed rl regulators against sea world for housing orcas together that are inpat able >> in the wild they swim. in captivity they are in tight confinement that they are forced to be with other animals they don't get along with so we understand from former trainers and whistle-blowers that acts of aggression are common. >> reporter: despite the gash, sea world says that niki was treated by a park veterinarian after the incident on september 20 and is recovering with new tissue growing in. the par
