our photographer caught this steady downpour on interstate 80 in the richmond san pablo area. we are all done for the rain now. tell make a return this week according to this guy, paul haggan. >> reporter: more rain at the beginning of the rainy season. a good thing. let's take a look at the radar replay. 7:00 through 2:00 this afternoon as the rain was making its way across the bay area. everyone picked up at least some measurable rainfall. the pockets of red coming down in a good clip. even deeper puddles were more of the result of leaves and debris blocking the drains and gutters as opposed to anything in terms of too much rain in a short amount of time. now the rain came to an end. the snow is winding down in the sierra after it made a mess of thins along i-80 and u.s. 50 earlier in the day. things are returning to normal there. picked up a quarter of an inch in dublin to 3/4s of an inch in the valley. more showers in the forecast beginning on wednesday. a dry day tomorrow, shower chances return that you see on the hour by hour chances on wednesday. not a guarantee of rain

it is that cold front draped across the region currently sitting right over marin county, san pablo bayup into napa county as well. starting to see some areas of showers picking up south of the golden gate and east of the bay bridge to also want to point out to you that balloon that's coming down up in lake and mendocino counties. we have some relatively low elevation snow fall along with this cold front in system as low as 6500 feet in elevation. so actua%ly seeing a little early season snow, not of the sierra, but also to our north here in the bay. we've seen a few lightning strikes around reading that potential of an isolated thunderstorm later today, especially for the north bay is pretty minimal. but don't be surprised if you hear roll of thunder into the afternoon. most of our rainfall is concentrated this morning. as you can see this line of showers clears through isolated showers here. and there and yes, maybe a roll of thunder along with that tomorrow is going to be a nice and calm day before a few showers possible into wednesday. now rainfall amounts for the bay today, mostly

three people were rescued from a grounded boat in san pablo bay on saturday. monterey coast guard rescued a diver and then on sunday, five people were rescued when their boat became disabled. that's west of keyhole beach. also on sunday, three people were rescued from a disabled boat near point reyes. the san francisco department of public health gave an update today on the city's efforts to make treatment more accessible to people struggling with addictio. doctor grant colfax said 32 people died of an accidental overdose in the city last month. that's about a 50% drop from the year before, doctor colfax is crediting the expansion of services in the city, including an effort to get people on the street, a prescription for a proven treatment for opioid addiction. >> they were reaching people at six, admission at night, getting a doctor on the phone and getting them the buprenorphine prescriptions that they need to survive. it's incredible. they were so busy. they were so busy. the doctors were talking to them on the phone every minute. >> overall, san francisco
