oakland reach into the upper 60s and low 60s near the coast, 72 today in palo alto. in sancisco, up to 67 downtown. our northbound highs reach into the upper 60s and lower 70s. it's going to be very pleasant today, but we are seeing changes ahead for the weekend. we had not one but two storm systems coming in. the first arrives by tomorrow and keeps the rain north of us. we can see how the next storm system after that is much bigger, and that's going to be coming in as we come into monday. looking ahead, we will see more clouds moving in starting tomorrow, and our temperatures will be slightly cooler, but we're not looking at a lot of rain. then on monday, a bigger storm system comes in, and there will be two storm systems next week. as we look at what the computer models are showing, bright red for the north and inland bay, we look like it could be over an inch. another computer model shows slightly lower rainfall totals, and we will see how much we get as we get closer to this. some upper 60s again for halloween, but we should get more sunshine. we will be watching not on

san jose. for the east bay we are looking at highs reach into the mid-70s for our warmest spots. a nice cooldown, breezy winds and mostly cloudy skies and reaching 72 in paloo. san francisco, low to mid-60s. for north bay highs, we'll top out about 73 degrees. as we go into our forecast, look at all the clouds just streaming in and even the possibility of spotty showers for the sierra on friday, but for us here in the bay area we're still missing out on all of the rain, but at least our air quality is better. all the smoke from the kmp fire is moving to the north and west, and that's good for us as we get more green and that's good for us and good to spend time outside. inland areas will reach in the upper 60s for tomorrow as friday. now the weekend, once that sunshine returns, we do come up a few more degrees, and overall we are keeping the fall-like weather. no major spikes in temperatures, and a cool week ahead for fleet week and everything that we will be kicking off with today with the ship tours in the mid-60s. so bring a jacket if you are coming into the city. >>> if you are going from the east bay into the city, a nice drive. taillights moving good

san jose at 72 degrees. let's bring it to the east bay, closer to the water, still in the 60s through oakland and hayward. 74 in concord, 71 in livermore. 70s down here toward palo alto and atherton. san mateo at 67. san francisco stays chilly, but you're going up a few degrees here. 67 in the mission, and winds not too gusty here either, out of the west at 9. through the north bay, 70s are back. just what you need to help you maybe clean up the front or back yard after some of that storm damage. this will be a lot easier for you to do with that sunshine and warmer temperatures. so it's looking really similar to this as we head through the next couple days. i want to fast forward things into next week and that possible rain chance we have coming ip. it doesn't look like anything as strong as what we went through, but you'll see the green and yellow color here, that's a quarter to a half inch we're looking at here, widespread through the bay area. again, next monday and also on tuesday. so on my seven-day forecast, this also means we're going to be dry for halloween. you can see in san francisco, 63. so good for trick-or-treaters. any kind of parties you got goin

the bay area today 41 miles an hour mount diablo big rock in the north bay 40 miles an hour, san jose 35 palo 33 redwood city. 28 mile an hour gust and sfo some 36 mile an hour it was still blustery out there around the bay area and maybe not as windy as 24 hours ago. but we're not done with the winds. another round of winds expected to move in national weather service has already issued a red flag warning starting on thursday morning. 10:00am continue until 08:00pm across the entire solano county. i think that may get extended an app. and i'll show you more of that in just a moment. i think we'll see some strong, gusty winds there as well. right now, here's a look at some of the winds they're beginning to die down just a bit. still some gusts over 20 miles an hour in parts of the bay area. dylan beach today. gabbay you've seen consistently some winds over 20 miles an hour, even in canfield 2425 miles per hour. bolinas 22 mile an hour winds. you get the idea. the one thing that has changed, though, is we're seeing more of an on shore breeze and that really brings up the humidity level in the

san mateo. now down through palo alto. we are seeing moderate to even pockets of heavy rain along 2.81. oh, one highway one right along the coastline. also in the midst of some heavy rain, especially once you head south of half moon bay. that's where it's the very heaviest we're about to have some pretty impressive rainfall totals right around that santa cruz mountains up and down the coast highway one richmond down to oakland down to hayward. also looking at light to moderate showers concord walnut creek. you're tapping into it now. the layover, the benicia and allay up to fairfield in napa. also in the midst of pockets of heavier rainfall and some lighter rainfall overall north bay. also in the mix, santa rosa pockets of heavy rain around you just to the west petaluma. also there as well. as i mentioned, napa. but further north from napa up in the lake county. also in the midst of some of those heavier bands. notice. we're still staying dry in sunnyvale and san jose but rainfall is working its way closer to you. you can see that actively here on radar as those showers continue to move

you are going to start to get rain through palo alto. san mateo and san jose you are next. so here's what it looks like through the remainedder of today. we are right in the highlight of friday's rain. right now this is the most impress ef rain of the day. it just does not end fo we to before we get to the back oj of friday's rain. it will not be this intense through 10:00. it starts to lessen over the next few hours but we have to keep rain in the forecast until 11:00 then you are done. for the rest of friday it does not rain. rainfall totals today, a quarter of an inch of rain in the north bay. for everybody else close to an inch of rain. a lot of these places have not started adding those toles of the saturday we have a bit of rain. sunday a lot. the systems are lining up. by the time we get to sunday there is a long atmospheric river directed at us. look at all of the rain directed at the bay area. it is a fire hose stretched across the pacific. that it looks like on the high resolution model. that is a bit too much of a big picture. let's go to more details. this is sa

they are paying playing them in palo alto, berkeley, and san jose. for stanford taking on oregon, 82 degrees at kickoff, and temperatures will go up through the rest of that game. 80 degrees in berkeley at kickoff as cal takes on washington state. san jose's take is to wait until after the sun goes down, but temperatures at 7:30 are still in the upper 70s. i mentioned that chance of rain. it is way down the line in the forecast. as we head through next week to we see a chance headed our way, best head start of the golden gate, typical. we are looking at lore and a 50-50 chance even for santa rosa by friday, but that is a long way down in the forecast. hopefully that number will go up as we head through the weekend and into next week. we know that temperatures will drop off, still warm around the bay this weekend, and then they really drop from monday to tuesday of about 67 degrees, but 9 degrees of for san jose, and even more wednesday and thursday. a full 10 degrees drop for inland and north bay. the drop goes along with the chance for a few showers

i will push this timeline forward to about 10:00 and it becomes more widespread into san francisco, livermore and palod becomes scattered overnight into the santa cruz mountains. be careful on 17, because we are expecting winds to pick up. let's talk about the three systems here. this will be the initial one, the weakest of the three, and then another storm will move in thursday into friday. then the big one that we are looking at for when it comes to significant rainfall totals is going to move in saturday into monday. as far as the timing goes for the third one, if it manages to tap into the atmospheric river with enough moisture, we could see several inches of rain and snow in the sierra as well. the system that will push through tonight is expected to kick up the winds, bringing in a couple inches of snow. look at what happens head into the next several days because of the incoming system. several inches of snow up there. in addition to that, gusty winds so be careful if you have plans to travel up there for the next couple of days because we are expecting to see gusting winds. we will remain in t
