we begin with alex savidge in san rafael where the marin county sheriff's office just spoke about their investigation. alex? >> reporter: good afternoon to you. marin county's stint coroner confirmed robin williams committed suicide by hanging himself. the autopsy was completed a few hours ago. investigators said williams was found in the bedroom of his tiburon home yesterday around noon with a belt around his neck. the other end of the belt was wedged into a doorjamb. the assistant coroner said williams's personal assistant found him dead and called for help. the autopsy revealed he had several cuts on his left wrist and a knife was found nearby. now, williams had struggled with drug and alcohol abuse and had recently checked himself into a rehab facility. investigators say at this point, they aren't sure if he was under the influence when he took his own life. >> toxicology testing listen conducted to determine if any chemical substances were in mr. williams's system at time of his death. at that time we'll have a determination as to whether there were signs that he was under the infl
