stand off at a hotel next to 580 in san rafaelant to put up a live picture. this freeway here, that overcrossing that top of the vene, that is francisco boulevard. the lower part of the screen is san rafael. the hotel is to the left of five 80. as a result of 580 closed down, we can put up pictures from news chopper 2, some of the back up, this, i believe, is off of the richmond-san rafael bridge. those cars there are heading westbound and what they have to do is all funnel down on to francisco boulevard a two lane road and work their way down to highway 101. that is the detour. the bottom line, traffic is backed up all the way across the richmond-san rafael bridge and we are hearing there are delays up to an hour and some folks are taking alternate routes, including over 137 heading towards novato. there are backups there as well. all of this started as a result of a man accused of stabbing a clerk during a attempted robbery, he is held up on the second floor of this hotel. the s.w.a.t. brought in a armored truck. there are polic
