the san rafael bridge. a red flag warning is in effect. spare the air again today. as carolyn mentioned, dry and mild weather all the way into the new year. we have dry, gusty winds. red flag warning should expire in the next hour. the north is east bay hills highlighted in red are the most suspect to the dry, gusty winds and the dangerous fire danger. low humidity there and gusts up to 35 miles an hour. as we check wind speeds now in the higher elevations, not so great. gusting up to 36 miles an hour at this point. even though the red flag warning will expire, it will still be breezy this afternoon. keep that in mind. here's why. the pacific satellite shows an area of high pressure and low pressure kind of sandwiched in between, driving the jet stream south in california. this brings us the high fire danger with high pressure in place throughout the week. we will see above normal temperatures in the 60s all the way into the weekend and also very dry weather. we are hoping for rain possibly by next week. highs today will be a few degrees warmer in some locations. 63
