san ramon starting at 47 degrees. mostly clear skies around the bay area, upper 40s and 50s for san jose into walnut creek. so what can we expect as we do plan ahead and that weekend forecast? today we're going to keep it mostly cloudy. there is a storm to the pacific northwest and i think it's going to stay there. for us, it could bring a spotty rain chance mainly for the north bay. we are going to be talking about mild weekend temperatures and it will be short lived as we talk about rain ahead next week. so we'll talk about all of those details. i'll walk you through hour-by-hour, and of course the 49ers forecast, that's coming up. >>> mike, where are you taking us to check on the roads? >> you talked about the 49ers and the home, their base will be levi's stadium in santa clara. we'll have local street closures starting about noon that day. finishing up for the week, north and southbound 87, remnants of slowing. i'll check the caltrans grid again. it looks like they should be clear in the next few minutes. cleared

the development will take over chevron san ramon office campus off bollinger canyon road. sunset development is drafting plans to build 2600 homes, apartments and condos on the 92 acre parcel. the plans also include a new retail center, a new park and a 3500 seat amphitheater. the developer doesn't foresee any major problems. >> one of the nice things about taking a big office campus like that down and delivering homes is they used less water, less power, there's less traffic because people don't come and go at one time like they do with 1,000,000.5ft■!s of office. >> some residents, we spoke with acknowledged the upside, but they're not convinced there will be less traffic. they're also concerned about the esthetics, the future for a swim center in santa clara that's been home to several olympic swimmers will be discussed at a city council meeting today. >> the city of santa clara recently closed the haines international swim center because it no longer meets safety codes. it's been open since 1965. 80 olympian have trained there, including mark spitz, michael phelps and

san ramon there you are. livermore you get the southern tail end of this in about the next 30, 40 minutes but it won't be as intense as it is right now. for walnut creek. and vallejo there you are on the northern edge of this. a good little cell right there. vallejo, martinez, benicia. all moving across for you guys but look upstream, kind of a different story. there's not a whole lot at this point that's coming in. there's another line right here probably going to march? across the city over the course of the next hour and we see that show up on the futurecast. little isolated cell that will keep kind of cropping up every now and again. from now -- through about say 10:00 a.m. and then once we get past about 10:00 a.m. we're done and we're going to clear that system out of here. there's one other thing about today. and that when this system does leave, we're still going to feel it because the northerly wind will be rushing in behind it. so we'll go all the way to the afternoon today and we're still looking a

san ramon seeing 38 degrees currently, close to that, around walnut creek, it's 40. san francisco, low temperature expected to be closer to 42 degrees. 39 now in calistoga. and with the temperatures already in the 30s at 9:00, you know it's going to get colder approaching sun rise. frost advisory, north bay, south bay and santa cruz mountains through about 10:00 a.m. this is chilly sunshine. you've got the clear skies, but around lunchtime, 40s and low 50s around the bay area. then, what had limit the daytime warming tomorrow, increasing high clouds later in the day leading up to rain chances rolling in by tuesday morning. monday we see the increase in clouds. tuesday plan on rain at times, nothing too heavy. this is a fast-moving system. morning showers mostly on tuesday. and we're not expecting significant rain. but on its heals is another fast cold-moving weather system dropping in from the north. wednesday's rain totals might be slightly higher. but no red or orange on that map indicating an inch or more of rainfall. wednesday's does have better snow support. thur

and these are the rainfall totals anywhere from a third of an inch in antioch to nearly an inch in san ramonancisco. you look at oakland .86, but the big winner, 5.52 mount tam. and in the santa cruz mountains, anywhere from 0.82 to over two inches of rain. so even along the bay shore, castro valley, looking at about an inch and a half, as well as orinda. so certainly some impressive totals there. 51 san francisco. it is 50 in oakland, 53 in hayward with 51. san mateo 48. half moon bay. and a look outside here from pier 39 looks nice and calm, right? 41 santa rosa. a little cooler here. temperatures dropping off there in the north bay with 49. in concord and 51 in livermore. so starting out with mixture of clouds and sun, even some fog out there. partly cloudy today for the holiday tomorrow. then midday tuesday. looks like we're going to get some more rain. a level one system that will end early wednesday and then as we get into thursday. it's a dry day, but queuing up for the end of the week. another storm system that looks to last into perhaps next weekend. high clouds filtered sun through

result is we are getting some great rainfall totals, moderate to heavy rain right now just off 680 in san ramoneast bay. look at all that activity. but first off let's start with right here in the santa cruz mountains, also in the peninsula san mateo to pacifica and then san jose. you haven't seen much at all, but now you have this line of moderate to heavy rain slicing through campbell into santa clara, lifting into the alum rock area. also around scotts valley, picking up the precipitation. and if you right now are in redwood city, you are hearing the raindrops on your rooftops. boy, it is pouring and we're going to be in the rain all night long and breezy winds as well. in fact, right now, as we take a look at some of the totals that we are anticipating up to 2.5in of rain, the outside number and the north bay coastal mountains. and we will see that easily. now this storm has so much energy associated with it. we have now seen the national weather service issue, yet another high surf advisory, and that goes into effect overnight tonight through thursday. and we're looking out towards the cit
