abc seven news meteorologist sandhya patel is here. we are always looking to the weekend, even on wednesday. sandhya. >> why not? you know what? everybody's got plans for the weekend, right? ama and dan, let me show you what you're going to see this weekend. breezy to gusty conditions. we've got it now. san francisco, sutro tower showing you kind of a shaky view there. we have a combination of fog and sunshine. the winds are getting gusty 35 miles an hour sustained in san francisco, but 33 at sfo even out towards concord you're getting that onshore breeze gusting to 22 miles an hour. so if you are stepping out tonight, be prepared for the winds. they will remain gusty through the next couple of hours, tapering and then picking back up heading into tomorrow afternoon and evening. we're in that gusty pattern right now. high pressure has nudged in a little bit, but we still have this trough to our north, so we'll keep the winds going. now it was a warmer one for some of our inland communities. we got up into the 90s. that's where we are r

. >> let's get to abc seven news meteorologist sandhya patel for the forecast. sandhya. >> the fire danger around here, as you both know, is pretty much year round. but the moisture that we did get on saturday helps out. but the breeze doesn't help out for that fire in lakeville. as we take a look at this live picture right now, things are really changing up from our mount tam cam. the marine layer has deepened and it is moving, which is allowing those temperatures to drop up to 14 degrees cooler in san francisco, down 12 in oakland, 15 santa rosa, ten degrees cooler in san jose. the onshore winds have picked up, gusting to 33 miles an hour at oakland. our highs so far today have made it up into the low 60s at the coast to the upper 90s inland. so yeah, it was another hot one inland. i do want to show you a satellite picture that really paints the picture. the southerly surge began to develop earlier in the day, and it started to move northward, which has allowed the cooling. but this circulation, known as a coastal eddy visually, is just a really pretty sight, but it is

abc7 news meteorologist sandhya patel is taking a closer look. sandhya. yeah, ama.e saw signs of that wildfire smoke this afternoon in the inland east bay where we noticed some haze. >> that air quality advisory is up through tomorrow, friday, and saturday. we are expecting good to moderate air quality for most areas, but not all. as you take a look at purple air, you will notice some pockets of poor air quality in the east bay and the north bay as we look at air now, which is the official reporting station. uh- agency. excuse me, good to moderate air quality at this hour, but we are clearly going to be seeing smoke from the western u.s. wildfires in canada continue to impact us. so from time to time, there will be haze might be a little thicker at 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. so watch out for that. if you're sensitive to smoke, you will need to avoid exposure by keeping your doors and windows closed. there's a time lapse and you can clearly see the layer of haze from mount tam as the sun was setting. i'll be back with a look at your weekend forecast. i'll let you know

meteorologist sandhya patel is here as we hit midweek. sandhya.eah. >> and we've got our summer spread today. >> it's going to continue tomorrow dan and ama, good evening to all of you. let's take a look at our temperatures right now. compared to 24 hours ago running 18 degrees warmer in fairfield, up four in san francisco, 12 to 16 degrees warmer from san jose to livermore. we had a good 40 degree spread between the coast, where it was in the low 60s, and half moon bay to the low 100 seconds in places like fairfiel. taking a look at the santa rosa almanac today, hitting 93 degrees downtown santa rosa, the average is about 83, so ten degrees above where it should be. and high pressure brought us the warmth. so that ridge of high pressure is going to control our weather again tomorrow. temperatures may back off just a little bit, but we'll continue to see some of this moisture coming in in the form of mid and high level clouds. those are once tropical storms that have fallen apart. heat advisory for the south bay until 10 p.m. tonight. just take it
