. >> let's get right to abc 7 news meteorologist sandhya patel. >> this system is shifting south. so now the south bay is starting to get some rain. it is still raining in the east bay, very light free mont at cherry street as we head into the livermore valley. you will notice heading into pleasanton that there is wet weather. we go down the peninsula. going into san jose you are getting your share. and the santa cruz mountains we are seeing light to moderate showers. it is a level one. scattered showers through tonight, rough surf. it's a light system. between 7:00 and 10:00 tonight a few lingering showers. 4:00 to 5:00 a.m. moderate showers in pockets and a high surf advisory until 4:00 a.m. friday. watch out for large breakers. breakers could be between 18 to 24 feet bringing the risk of rip currents. next storm is a powerful one. i'll be back with a closer look at that coming right up. >> cal trans will shut down because of tomorrow's storm. it will close about a 12 mile stretch between mud creek. that area experienced the biest mudslide in cal trans history in may of last yea
