meteorologist sandhya patel is back with more heat. sandhya. >> yeah, and unfortunately it is going to be intense in our inland areas. dan and julian so be prepared for that the next three days. but for now i want to give you something that will kind of give you this comforting feeling. yeah. our marine layer is from our east bay hills camera. you can see it just kind of rushing in many areas this morning. started off this way. and tomorrow morning we're going to have still the marine influence. so you don't have to worry about the heat right near the coastline. but high pressure unfortunately is going to rebuild. and as it does, we are expecting those temperatures to spike in our inland valleys. it will be warmer around the bay as well. today it was in the upper 80s inland, so warm inland but comfortable in the 60s at the coastline on live doppler seven, you can still see a lot of low clouds along the coast. we still have some right around the bay shoreline as well. never quite cleared. gusts to 32 miles an hour onshore in oakland. tha

along with the high temperatures, we're also dealing with a spare the air alert meteorologist sandhya patel is here. sandhya? yeah. >> dan and julian, we're just getting started with this heat wave. so let's talk about the hot spots for today. got up to 105 degrees in livermore. 103 in fairfield. you'll notice ukiah 109 degrees. obviously, it was nowhere near hot along the coastline where the marine influence kept your temperatures in the 60s, only 62.5 moon bay still holding the heat inland. triple digits. brentwood danville. excessive heat warnings for inland areas until friday night at 8 p.m, you will notice the area shaded in orange is under a heat advisory until friday night as well, so the heat risk is still there. major for inland areas tomorrow. isolated spots will go into the extreme category, shaded in purple there. so definitely watch out for that. let's go hour by hour and talk about the temperatures. it's going to drop off into the 90s at 7 p.m, but that's still pretty warm. you'll notice at 9 p.m. 80s and 90s the coast is cooling rapidly. it didn't really get that warm, so it

. >> we are seven days into an extended heat wave here in the bay area, and meteorologist sandhya patel has been tracking it for the last seven days. sandhya, a cooler temperatures finally in some places today. >> yeah, julian and definitely welcome relief here in the bay area. temperatures dropping off some more. the cooling started yesterday and you can pretty much see why the numbers dropped some more. the golden gate bridge is pretty socked in. the marine layer is about 1500 feet deep. the sea breeze has helped to drive some of those temperatures down by three degrees in san francisco, down two in livermore right now. but when you take a look at the numbers inland in places like brentwood and concord, when you're in the low 90s, as opposed to 110 degrees, i mean, this is what you kind of expect. 60 in the city. unfortunately, the heat advisories for the inland valleys and mountains got extended until 8 p.m. friday because we're expecting another wave of hot weather and it is going to get dangerous. of course, the san francisco bay shoreline will be under that heat advisory, but that
