sandra smith has the latest on these two in today's trade. noble actually losing a couple percent. it is down 1% write-down. these are better than expected earnings. keep that in mind. it was a much narrower loss in the $0.98 analysts were looking for. sandra smith is here with details in today's trade. sandra? >> yeah, the last time we saw these levels, like 1422 is the level we were looking for but we popped above there this week. we haven't seen that going back four years the difference this time stocks in the s&p are much cheaper. you can really find some bargains. we found six stocks total. the first six stocks here trading cheaper than s&p and yielding higher than the s&p. aflac, we all know and love commercials with the duck especially, this insurer is beating the s&p 500 on all accounts. it is pretty much a bargain at these levels. i will pull up a one-month chart, guys. the stock is up 10%. bargain prices, seven times earns right now. s&p is yielding 2.3. so it is beating. the other stock we're looking at is chevron. this is large cap stock to look at. very much tied into oil and natural gas's rise this evening. up 5% this month. so it is underperforming the rest of the market. four largest oil companies with great play on $100 oil. paid a dividend since 1912. a great dividend may.

any relief in sight, sandra smith? probably not until after the holiday weekend. >> probably not so much. here is the gasoline prices. the national average is $3.82. that is up 30 cents from the regular price of gasoline just one month ago. diesel prices very important for those truckers out there, solid by above $4 overnight to $4.08. that is up 31 cents from where it was a month ago. certainly the tropical storm that it is now and the hurricane pushing prices higher. look at some of the commodity prices themselves in today's session. crude oil prices falling back about a full percent. also and here's oil prices. rbob gasoline. this is the wholesale gasoline price, down about half a percent. some of the gains we saw earlier in the week, you saw that big spike earlier in the week when we were anticipating it storm. so we have sole off and taken back some earlier gains. the result of that. nonetheless, guys, there has been aing about play in the stock market. that is looking at these refineries. over the course of the w

sandra smith has that story from the cme in today's trade. sandra?ell, traders here in chicago are playing it ways that you might not have seen yet actually. let's throw up the board, the bernanke bounce is seen across the board in the commodities markets. by the way, you will notice that these are actually full today. traders despite -- despite the long weekend, they came in. the bernanke speech was a big one. they are still here in the final minutes of trading. silver the best performer at the cme today, up 3 1/2%. rbob gasoline, wholesale gasoline prices, crude oil, gold up more than 30 bucks guys. nearing $1700 an ounce. natural gas prices up couple percent. citigroup says looking at those crude oil prices they believe crude will go up even further next week when we get supply, inventory reports that are going to reflect a drop in supplies after the storm this week. by the way, we just got the closing prices, 96.42 for crude oil. for the month, guys, that's the best monthly performance for crude oil going all the way back to october of last year.
