this is how social media today handled sandy hook.ent forgotten in this country, peaking just a few hours ago, about 28,000 tweets per minute. 554 kids under the age of 12 killed by gun violence across the country. you see the individual incidents there. as we go state by state, you'll see the darker states have a higher average of kids killed per capita. one of the things really interesting to me was the type of guns that seems to be causing the most horrific effect on children, hand guns. far and away are killing kids at a much greater rate than any other guns. listening to kate's interview with the parents there was a huge push for federal legislation after the sandy hook shooting and almost nothing changed. it was the state by state legislation. 14 states actually toughened their gun laws, made background checks more difficult. condensed the amount of ammo 0 you can carry in a clip. that made a difference state by state. nationally, we are still seeing kids, and last year was the worse year since 1999 for kids 12 years and younger
