temperature slipped well into the information center said the san juan mountains, sangre de cristos and aspen mountains are at risk. there were several large avalanches near cameron and berthoud passes on saturday that we have to take note of. chris spears is here to track the forecast. it is more snow coming? >>> there is more snow which is great news for the the normal low is 20 with a high of 47. we have gusty winds crossing the state due to a storm system to the north. 10-15 miles per hour in the metro. some places with wind gusts near 50 miles per hour. when you add the snow, that makes it tricky westbound out of denver. from golden and westminster and black hawk there are wind gusts there will be a slow trek toward minnesota and we are getting a cold flow on the backside of that low pressure system. that will keep the snow machine going for the higher elevations today right on through tonight and even tomorrow. notice denver and eastern plains for the most part stay dry. we cannot rule out a stray shower squeezing through, but the big story is for the higher elevations where there

the avalanche centers says that the san juan mountains, sangre de cristo mountains and other parts are at high risk for avalanche. it is something for us to watch. let's get over to chris spears . good morning. >>> good morning to you. we are starting off chilly this morning with robelot at 40 which is an exception. alamosa drop down to 3. mid-20s and 30s on the slopes. 17 just north of breckenridge. it is breezy out there which is adding chill to the air. along the continental divide, 53 mile-per-hour wind gusts at monarch pass. also eastern colorado and the southeastern lane the southeastern plains. snow in the high country. we will keep snow in the high country off and on all day today complements of the big low spent -- spreading north and northeast. it is bringing cold batter and moisture down its backside and into colorado. snow showers all day long. in fact into early tomorrow. eastern colorado, denver, stays on the dry side. we could see a stray shower sneaking through, but mostly this will stay in the high country where there are advisories in effect. some places taking out --

and radar together, back to 4:00 this morningwe southern colorado down in the san juans and sangre de cristos. a low pressure is spreading the moisture in. a little bit of rain around noontime around the denver metro. very little. and now drier air coming in. a dry slot with the low sitting over colorado. another batch of moisture coming in on the backside of the low in southeastern areas. that's going to cover the eastern plains during the night. still winter weather advisory near 10,000 feet, four to eight inches. 11,000 feet, isolated pockets got close to a foot of snow out of the moisture. here is the guy that is doing it all. upper level low right smack dab over colorado, a few thunderstorms as well. most of the rain down in new mexico and texas. some areas with storms popping about half an inch to an inch of rain this evening out there. still a bit jet stream going up and over the rockies. that's going to remain in charge all next week but a few elements under it like this upper level low. and a cold front moving into the pacific northwest. this guy will start to move into our area on m
