sanjay gupta and here in los angeles, dr. drew pinsky.ight, sanjay, you are a certified medical examiner. didn't know that until tonight, by the way. is an autopsy report, that's it, bona fide, they say it, that's it? >> with regard to the toxicology tests which you have talked about quite a bit there, those are pretty reliable tests. when you're talking about blood alcohol levels and thc levels which give you some indication of potential time course of when -- when thc entered the body. those are reliable tests. the autopsy results -- i have not seen independently myself. it is hard for me to comment on those. they do look at all these things that are indicative of both short term and long-term use of alcohol, for example, which you talked about. >> larry: sanjay, would bringing the body up help? >> well, you know -- i guess in part that depends on what the question is you're trying to answer. lots of different theories. i've been listening to your whole show. i'm not sure you would answer any of those theories. transient attack, tia, th

sanjay gupta as well as peter bergen.s been looking at medical facilities in helmand province. he takes us inside a hospital at camp dwyer. take a look at his report. >> reporter: early morning, kandahar. >> we've been here just a few migts. we're already getting an idea of just how busy this hospital is. the busiest air strip supposedly in the world, trying to get patients to the hospital. we're hearing this is a very urgent case. a patient with a lot of bleeding. possible double leg amputation. >> stay out of the box, please. >> very weak radal pulses. tourniquet was turn on about 45 minutes ago. bilateral tourniquets. >> reporter: the doctor is communicating to the patient, translating, trying to figure out exactly what happened to him. we don't know much. middle-aged, afghan national. here's something, only a quarter of the patients brought here are u.s. or coalition forces. the rest are locals. >> we'll go ahead and give him some more pain medicine. yes, please, 50 again. he can handle it. >> you have no idea the sev

sanjay gupta is in -- is in an afghanistan er.eon, thought the toddler might not make it. he checked on him every day. and today, we're paging dr. gupta from the other side of the world for the condition of this seriously injured boy. and now little malik, the miracle, is going home. >> reporter: john and carol, we now know where malik's story began. began in the hills behind me, where his parents walked 50 kilometers by foot to get their son some care. here's what happened. this was going to end well, but when we met malik, he looked like this. bandaged and broken and desperate, a toddler from a remote high mountain village, malik had fallen down a cliff like this when a u.s. special forces unit found him. >> he ended up falling off the roof and landed on his head, causing a fracture and he started to get a hematoma, which was causing the problems he was seriously having. >> reporter: army special forces. this is them at work. these guys are the elite, the invisible warriors, and this exclusive video shows how they got malik out
