this morning a santa rita escapee is back behind bars. deputies are looking into how an inmate escaped from the jail in dublin. jose franco was brought back to the jail around 10:00 last night. he was in jail on burglary charges, vanished around 2:00 yesterday afternoon. seven hours later somebody spotted him at a chevron station and called 911. he was captured, still wearing the blue pants and brown shirt marked alameda county jail. investigators aren't sure how he slipped away from the sheriff's bus that was taking him back to jail i have an court appearance. >>> this morning oakland police asking for help identifying a hit-and-run driver who killed a pedestrian before midnight. police say a man crossing the street was hit by a dark colored full sized van possibly a chevy or gmc. witness told police the driver, a man in his 30s or 40s, got out, looked at the victim then got back in his vehicle and drove away the victim's name has not been released. >>> morning this novato police getting help in trying to nap the arsonist who has been on
