record-tying high for santa rosa, awfully close to record territory in livermore as well.o last very long, let's look at the seven-day forecast, temperatures are going to drop precipitously through friday and the weekend, talking 20+ degree drop from thursday afternoon to saturday afternoon. whether whiplash in full effect, even the outside chance at the cool air settles in over the weekend we could squeeze a couple showers out of the atmosphere. but it is far below a 50% chance of anything more than a few sprinkles or a trace of moisture at this point. everybody cools off, a 20 degree drop around the bay as well, from the upper 80s to the upper 60s by saturday and sunday. for the coast, beverages will be warm the next couple days, getting close to 80 on thursday, then settling down to the low 60s over the weekend and into early next week. at least you see a little sunshine peeking through the clouds monday and tuesday. >> plans still look good, there. nice job. thank you, paul. >>> what do barbie and baseball have in common? >>> the giants are hosting a movie edit oracle

this afternoon we're sitting in the 90s from petaluma over into santa rosa. the way down into san francisco we go, close to the 90s already and certain pockets of san francisco i wouldn't actually be shocked if we hit 90-degrees this afternoon. just based off the topography and certain people will actually southeastern a little bit more winds than others and we're expecting 90s today in the santa clara valley and warming up close to the triple digits through areas like san jose. actually a little bit cooler in pockets like antioch. a quick look at the next seven days starting off with the inland areas it is going to be a warm one for us today. anywhere from concord over into fairfield, i mean, daytime highs this afternoon, actually sitting close to the triple digits in the santa clara valley. we'll see that similar trend for most of the inland areas until around saturday and that's when low pressure slowly moves its way in. look at next week. gorgeous conditions and of course the blue angels right around corner. flying in the bay as we head into our forecast

you're asked to call the santa rosa police department. if you have any information or have seen him. another teacher strike has been prevented in the bay area. the gilroy teachers association and the city school district reached a tentative agreement on a new contract this week. both sides have been negotiating since september of last year. some highlights of the deal include a 13% ongoing salary increase over 2 years, reducing class size ratios from 24 students per teacher for first through 3rd grades, additional pay for dual immersion teachers and maintaining employee contributions to their health and welfare benefits. the tentative agreement. we'll go to a ratification vote on november. 1st. bad news for people who like to eat dungeness crab for thanksgiving for the 5th year in a row. the california department of fish and wildlife is delaying the start of commercial crabbing season from half moon bay all the way up to the oregon border commercial. crabbing was expected to start november. 15th. now it won't start until at least december

we're talking about mid- to upper 90s in the santa clara valley. that is significantly above average. in fact, record tying or record breaking high temperature for san jose. today's record is 94 degrees, forecasting a high of 95. mid- to upper 90s inland and the east bay, low 90s around the south end of the bay. mid-70s for half moon bay. yesterday's high was in the mid-80s, so that's already a drop, and it'll drop even more for tomorrow. slight drop for san francisco and oakland but still in the 80s which is well above normal and back in the low- to mid-90s inland and the north bay this afternoon which is a good 15 to 20 degrees above what's average for this time of year. as we look ahead to the long-range outlook, if you want the cooler weather to stick around once it arrives, think again. the eight to 14-day outlook from the climate prediction center shows a significant chance beyond the scope of the seven-day forecast of numbers settling back in. so the drop by monday tuesday, does look like it's going to be temporary. if you're looking for aut

santa rosa is a 95 degree record from 1921. napa 94. same story in redwood city in half moon bay, a record from 1998. for the day would be 82 degrees. so it's possible that we get there. but we'll have to see how this afternoon plays out. meanwhile, obviously, a lot of blue skies out there, a little bit of a haze in the sky as well as we are under a spare. the air alert for air quality today. and in addition to that, we've got a high surfeit advisory out at the coast looking out for some of these waves potentially on north and northwest facing beaches to get upwards of 15, even to 17 plus feet. so dangerous conditions there. the possibility of sneaker waves just kind of show you you can see right off point raze the wave height about 12 feet, taking it down near san francisco about 10 feet right now. but notice this is that's well that's coming in. you can see that other color green. so expecting that to kick up as we get to the afternoon, making it very dangerous throughout the afternoon and evening. that should start to pull back tomor
