santa clara county supervisors meeting right now. yeah. so they are set to cast a vote amid health concerns about your children and the artificial turf where they play sports. nbc bay area's bob redell explains what's on the table. there are concerns that artificial turf fields like the one behind me here at santa clara's youth soccer field next to levi's stadium, could be releasing chemicals that could be harmful to people. this afternoon, the santa clara county board of supervisors will vote on a new ordinance that would ban the installation of artificial turf on county owned properties and would require that existing turf be ripped out, if not properly maintained. the santa clara county medical association supports this ban because it says chemicals in the fake grass have been linked to cancer. another group called mothers out front silicon valley, says artificial turf poses a particular health risk to children who play sports on these fields. it causes more injuries, but what concerns me the most is the toxic chemical soup of chemicals

a 33 year-old man struck by a car in santa rosa on august. first died from his injuries in the hospital tuesday morning. he's been identified as malone weaver. the crash happened around 9 40 at night on hearne avenue near the smart train tracks. police say a 19 year-old woman hit weaver and then took off. just this is a tragedy as to what happened. but it's been made a whole lot. >> worse by the fact that she chose to flee and not stay at least call 9-1-1, sergeant summer gloeckner with santa rosa. police says investigators first identified the car involved. >> from a home security camera nearby surveillance actually show the collision and we thought it was a white lexus from their police use citywide cameras to get the license plate and that led them to a home not too far from where the crash happened. her name is alejandra vasquez. >> she. >> we did an initial interview with her at the at her home that associate with the license plate and she admitted to being the driver in the collision all 100 vasquez was arrested and charged with felony

i'm sara stinson reporting in santa rosa kron. 4 news. >>well, the clock is ticking for families living in their rv's long zeroed in san francisco. the coalition on homelessness as san francisco officials plan to force the rv's out of their location at midnight. that's coming up very soon. these rv's already had to relocate once and they have been parked along west and drive near stonestown mall until the death sfmta ordered them to move and started issuing tickets just days after this. the rv started setting up camp along zoo road. the city also started posted. signs there indicating the rv's would be towed if not moved by the deadline. mayor london breed's office sent us a statement earlier saying in part the city continues provide in-person out reese rv occupants onto road, offering support services, housing and shelter. those who do not accept the services will not be allowed to remain parked along the road and will face towing violations during parking enforcement. the statement also says, quote, those who do not accept these service

a 33 year-old man struck by a car in santa rosa on august.st died from his injuries in the hospital tuesday morning. he's been identified as malone weaver. the crash happened around 9 40 at night on hearne avenue near the smart train tracks. police say a 19 year-old woman hit weaver and then took off. just this is a tragedy as to what happened. but it's been made a whole lot. >> worse by the fact that she chose to flee and not stay in at least call 9-1-1, sergeant summer gloeckner with santa rosa. police says investigators first identified the car involved. >> from a home security camera nearby surveillance actually show the collision and we thought it was a white lexus from their police use citywide cameras to get the license plate and that led them to a home not too far from where the crash happened. her name is alejandra vasquez >> she. >> we did an initial interview with her at the at her home and that associate with the license plate and she admitted to being the driver in the collision all 100 vasquez was arrested and charged with felon
