after we were released from santa catalina, we were we moved over to santa. this was a civilian internment camp of about a 3000 people. and we were told that we would sort of help take care of this civilian internees. and when we got to south los internment camp, the japanese put us in one large room and searched all of our belongings. and there were two of them searching the footlocker that had the flag in. and when they saw the flag, they said, ah, they motioned, what was this? they weren't speaking english, but they were pointing to the flag and wanting to know what it was. and i pretended that it was a shawl. i just yesterday that it was a shawl and the well, they still a concern and and talked to them and still worked thought that that's what it was. i guess but, uh, i just, just heard again that it was a shell put around my shoulders and they let me keep it. and we work entire time while we were interned, the life was pretty monotonous. it was a constant struggle from day to day to exist. a food was very scarce. the japanese allowed only one american re

this is the neighborhood of santa catalina, quite popular for a few years. and by the way, fisherman used to live here in the past. the district has developed into a trendy area in recent years. the mostly smaller, 2 story houses have been renovated here. you'll find shops, restaurants, and can face. it's a great atmosphere. ah, i now i want to go out into nature. and there's a great way to do that. sustainable. and with a nostalgia factor. lou. this is the train that's gonna take me straight to the other end of the island. as the name suggests, the trend this sawyer takes you to sawyer the string connection that has existed since 1912. it takes about an hour for the historic locomotive to travel the 27 kilometers there and back costs. 32 euros. i find its well worth the price. the gentle rattling of the train is peaceful and the views are beautiful. we had through the mountain range, sadly, from montana in the northwest of my yorker, with mountains up to 1500 meters. the train stops in the middle of the mountains to give us the opportunity to enjoy this vie
