lisa amin gulezian reports from santa clara where dozens of consumers have become ill. >> do you haveny of those brands? if you've bought any of the ones on the voluntary recall list, don't eat 'em. >> that's the word from the santa clara county public health department. in this county alone, 38 people have tested positive for salmonella. three were so sick they had to be hospitalized. >> a few people we could trace back to similar food or eating eggs. but the issue is because of a lab at the timing, we know it's the same strain which was the strain in this outbreak. >> santa clara county and several other public health agencies were the first to alert the cbc in the early summer that the salmonella outbreak was directly linked to eggs. then the feds tracked down the specific source. they found eggs produced in gulf, iowa, at wright county egg with salmonella illnesses in three states, california, colorado and minnesota. they were packaged under 13 different brands. now all of those are being recalled. the most common brand are safeway ace lieu certain eggs, albert son and ralph. shop
