here in santa clara county, most of the water is imported, half coming from the delta's aqueducts carrying water from snow and rainfall in the sierras, the other half from water pumped out of the ground. >> most of our water --and most people don't know this -- most of our water actually comes from outside of the county. >> so, about 55% of it actually comes from outside of the county. most of it comes from the sacramento san joaquin delta. >> california is estimated to have used 81,000 acre feet of ground water storage in 2014. that's enough for 81,000 suburban households in one year. most of our water goes to agriculture with only a small percentage for urban use. >> if you look at, you know, one droplet of water. let's imagine that that droplet is the entire droplet of water that drops in the state of california. half of that droplet is going to basically the flush back out into the water system. so, we don't have any uses for that. they call that environmental use. so, the environment benefits from that. the other half of the droplet, 40% of that droplet goes to the farms, agriculture.

santa clara county court workers and the court go back to the bargaining table. if everything goes well, the strike on day 7, could end. it was more than a week ago that nearly 400 santa clara county workers walked off the job. they went on strike. they said they haven't had a raise in nearly a decade. that strike had a huge impact on court services. we saw judges doing their own paperwork, clerks offices were closed and search and arrest warrants were backlogged. but the workers said they hope that that message was loud and clear to the court that they deserve more pay. >> when it comes right down to it, you cannot expect them to survive in the most expensive place in the united states. to keep up at least a second year raise would give them an opportunity for health benefits and spend more time with their families. >> reporter: so the court was offering them two 5% raise this is six months. the court workers want a third raise after not getting a pay raise for nearly a decade. we heard some court workers have been working more than one jobs, some losing homes.
