doctor sarah rudman says wastewater data for santa clara county shows just like the rest of the countrylevels are high. we are seeing high levels in our wastewater in nearly all areas of the county, and that's our best indication that there is a lot of covid out there right now. tens of thousands of americans are being admitted to the hospital for respiratory viruses each week right now, most of them for covid, followed by the flu and rsv. nationally, cdc data shows covid levels are higher than they were this time last year in every region, and the latest data doesn't even include spread from the holiday. yet on top of all of this, vaccination rates are low for both covid and the flu. that worries me because even though our hospitals are not quite as inundated as they were this time last year, we are still seeing people land in the hospital or even die from their covid or flu disease. this year, only 19% of u.s. adults have gotten the recent covid vaccine. that same percentage in santa clara county . redman says it's not too late to protect yourself. something we could have to do every

deputies in santa clara county have called off a search for a man they say is armed and dangerous. the sheriff's office shut down mount madonna county park near gilroy saturday afternoon as part of the search for 64 year-old christopher crowell. now, deputies say he fired a gun towards someone who came to his house near gilroy to deliver legal documents. one man, who was on a hike in the area tells us a park ranger told him to leave immediately. >> we're evacuating the park. you guys are going to have to leave. and we said, what's going on? he says. it's a public safety issue now. >> the park reopened yesterday morning, but we're still trying to find out if authorities found crowell or if they think he ran away. sheriff's deputies are telling anyone who sees him to call 911 immediately. there's this photo. a woman suspected of stealing a car is under arrest after also allegedly stealing a chp cruiser in vallejo. now, police say they initially chased vanessa morales for car theft. they say she then led chp on pursuit, got out of the stolen car and somehow got inside a chp cruiser and
