in santa clara county, the registrar's office is scrambling to contact hundreds of voters in gilroy. this comes after a mapping mistake meant that some people got ballots without a specific race. nbc bay area's marianne favro is at the registrar's office with the story. you'll see only on nbc bay area. the acting county registrar of voters says that this issue impacts about 1200 voters in gilroy, who did not get a chance to vote for a trustee for gavilan college. that race has two candidates vying to be trustees for gavilan community college area four. but the county says because of a mapping issue, when new college district boundaries were formed, people in district four didn't get to vote on the correct trustee race. as a result, about 1200 voters who should have been in trustee area four, which is a contest on the ballot, were not put into that contest. so we are trying to, you know, recover even though it's close to the election. we're trying to send out ballots to the to the voters who are impacted. we're also making phone calls and emails out to impacted voters. many of those v
