the city of santa cruz and according to the sheriff's department right now santa cruz is not burning whatsoever it's what surrounding santa cruz. as you can see all that smoke behind me that is burning but if you live in santa cruz. you're good to go. for now because the conditions are favorable in the overnight hours they did not see any lightning strikes. it is not windy. whatsoever of the embers are not flying around at this time they did make some progress now we're sitting at 13% containment that is up from 8% that was given to us at around 11 o'clock last night so they did make some progress there. unfortunately the acreage has gone up which is not surprising because they want to keep it relatively the same now we're sitting at 78,000 acres burned up from 74,000 acres unfortunately the structures now that they can clearly see what's going on the structures destroyed has gone up from around a 180 structures to 231 structures. they are warning people don't return to your homes because over the weekend they had to rescue 6 people who tried to go back into their homes either check
