now is going to result in some pretty heavy rain today on the central coast, especially areas the santa cruzapping into some pretty decent rainfall throughout the course of the day. i'm going zoom in first on the santa clara valley, a spot that's been seeing some pretty heavy and consistent rainfall right now. it's moderate for you, but a good soaking rain continues on routes like 85 101 6 ad as well as 2.80. so make sure that you are taking it slow out there. highway 17 has some heavy showers on it up in the redwoods up there in the santa cruz mountains. you are going to be our big winners out of rainfall today up there just about the south bay. let's roll up the peninsula and you can see those heavier showers. i was talking about down around san bruno, south san francisco pacific, as well as daly city. a lot of that is sitting on the west side of san francisco right now, too. little bit of a heavier pocket about to roll over alameda. just a few moments. and if you're heading up towards richmond as well as on over towards berkeley, in kensington, we do have some heavier pockets in this dire

we have windy conditions in santa cruz with the raindrops. certainly gray skies from golden gate to vollmer. as we look at live doppler seven, i want to press in on where we are seeing the heaviest rain right now. morgan hills san martin, the rainfall rates in this area about a third of an inch per hour. watch out for the downpours. your friday getaway. good friday holiday weekend. not exactly an easy breezy one from pleasanton to livermore, concannon boulevard light to moderate showers, and we're seeing very spotty light showers around healdsburg. windsor highway 101 into geyserville. widening the picture here. this area of low pressure is spinning off the coast. it's a pretty intense system for springtime. it is certainly bringing snow to the sierra, and that low is going to continue to trigger the instability as it spins and heads towards southern california. all this that you're seeing here, cold, unstable air means the potential is there for thunderstorms. so i wouldn't let your guards down right now. winds are gusting 39 miles an hour.
