we're situated at the pacific - situated at the pacific palisades is at the bottom of the santa monica mountain wind, we've never had a fire like this before ever though. it went from blue skies to black skies in a matter of minutes because the wind had shifted. all of the wind had shifted. all of the resources we take it to is side of the fire and then the wind shifted and our entire neighborhood caught for that and the resources weren't there and the resources weren't there and we ran out of water. my family has been in the palisades since the 1930s i'm a fifth generation palisade ian. i grew up in a beautiful pink brick house across the street from my grandparents when my mother grew up. her brother lives down the street with his wife, two kids, all three of us lost their houses. there is nothing left. we were watching the smoke billowed over. when they say pack your things ago, we packed tiptoe, hundred and £75 tortoise for the it went pretty slow so that we take a minute. again, we have 11 adults here for that we have six dogs, cat, a tortoise where just so happy to all have each other and

as of right now in the santa monica mountains, we're seeing the wind at about 28mph and some of those gusts picking up to 37mph. so once again, the winds are getting stronger. the relative humidity is critically low, and we are still seeing this particularly dangerous red flag warning the pds red flag warning, which is the highest level of a red flag warning you can get. we are seeing that once again, in effect for pretty much all of southern california, for those coastal areas where we will see the impact of these winds increasing in the humidity levels decreasing as we go throughout the day. take a look at the forecast. our hour by hour forecast shows just how strong those winds are going to be at 3 to 4:00 in the morning. this is a really dangerous time as many people are sleeping. if a fire does start to spread, maybe in a different direction, well, there will be a lot of people who may not heed those warnings because they're asleep at the time. and we're going to see these winds increasing through tomorrow afternoon. but the peak of the wind is expected within the next 24 hours.

as you see here, the wind speeds in the santa monica mountains there between malibu and heading up towards encino to the north. north at 38mph, gusting now to 45mph and the humidity quite low, down to 20%. we've been watching the expansion of the evacuation order zones from last night, as the fire made a run to the north of a bit of a change in the wind earlier this morning, and then activity in these red dots here, more active on the east flank of the fire near the mandeville canyon area there, north of brentwood. so the concern is, is the fire made a bit of that jog towards 405 north of brentwood as the winds are shifting, that could allow the fire to make another run to the south. that is something we're watching tonight as red flag conditions continue around the palisades fire and to the northeast, the eaton fire. seeing a high wind warning as these wind speeds expected to accelerate tonight and peak tomorrow morning out of the north from about 40 to 50mph. and those hilltops there around the palisades fire and not far from altadena. very dry conditions. and unfortunately, the long ran
