it happened at north steel and north coast in santa rosa. it looks like a santa rosa crew arrived on scene to prepare the street light that was knocked down, possibly to clear the debris still here on the road. we are hearing from family members overnight that this all started as an auto theft and turned into a high speed pursuit through the streets of santa rosa leaving a man injured and a car in flames. here is what we know so far. sometime after midnight the victims heard a noise outside of their home on rhianna street in santa rosa. when they looked outside, they saw somebody breaking into and stealing their white dodge charger. the car took off and the two men from the home mopped into a vehicle and began tailing the car. the chase took them through the streets of santa rosa reportedly at high speeds. santa rosa police say at times the speeds reached 100 miles per hour. the car owner says they lost sight of the charger but then heard a loud crash. they found that the white dodge charger had crashed into six other vehicles, causing one t

kpix 5's andrea nakano is in santa rosa with more tonight. >> reporter: the cardinal newman community came a long way since the fire last october. many were consumed by disbelief and despair then, but tonight a celebration of what they've been able to accomplish in a very short amount of time. this is what the school looked like after the fire ripped through their campus on october 8th. students were displaced and attended classes on remote campuses. the football team had to find alternate practice fields going after their dream to win a national championship. roughly four months later though, the students are all back together. >> being back makes a huge difference. >> reporter: the school set up 22 modules to make it happen, for a community still in the remiddle of the rebuild -- in the middle of the rebuilding process, this is priority number one. >> we knew the kids were safe, and they were on four different campuses, but the challenge of trying to teach a provide a quality education is difficult. >> reporter: that's why the school held the we're back celebration tonight. this als
