sara? >> all right.ning us now to discuss is former georgia state senator jen jordan and elliot williams. thank you both for being here. elliot, kenneth chesebro has demanded a speedy trial, but fani willis has said we're going to do this october, she's trying to set that for the date. what significance here is in this case being tried first? >> sure. chesebro going first means that he may well get a trial before everybody else but the mere fact that one defendant's trial is scheduled doesn't compel the court to be ready for all the other defendants. here is why, every defendant, no matter who they are, has a right to prepare for trial and be ready -- you know, to be able to get ready for trial. by forcing some of the other folks to trial you could actually be jeopardizing some of their constitutional rights. here is where you start to see cases or at least relationships between defendants fray, where they might have worked together at least have been accused of working together on a criminal enterprise

sara murray is at the courthouse. sara, what's the latest? >> reporter: well, things are still going on in there, anderson. as you pointed out, we're hours beyond when the courthouse normally closes. around 7:15. the presiding judge this week said he planned to stick around for at least another hour. so, we're waiting to see if he gives us another update. and, look, this grand jury has been busy today. we know that they have heard from a number of witnesses, including the former lieutenant governor of georgia, geoff duncan, a former democratic state senator, former democratic state representative. gabe sterling, who is an official in the georgia secretary of state's office was also spotted in the courthouse today. so, it's likely he testified, although they have not confirmed that yet. so, this has really been a jam-packed day so far, anderson. >> is it clear why the timeline of the grand jury's activity appeared to accelerate earlier today? >> reporter: yeah, i mean, a couple of the witnesses who were supposed to appear tomorrow were summone

sara murray is "outfront." sara, just got a court district attorney funny willis' report. what's the latest? >> reporter: that's right. keeping with the posture that she wants to move quickly with this case, she's informing defendants and attorneys that she's ready to go in may to september to begin showing discovery in this case but again, she has asked for a rather large usb drive to provide so that she can share this initial batch of discovery. look, she's already told the judge in this case that she would like to see it go to trial in october of this year, a date that many lawyers involved and not involved in this case think is unrealistic. >> reporter:'s team has already weighed in on this, saying, they oppose that october date, although they have not offered an offensive. most importantly, we still haven't heard, yet, from the judge, in terms of what he thinks is a reasonable schedule for this case. in the meantime, though, you got 19 defendants. it's a little bit like herding cats. you're watching people make moves in their best interest and not necessarily together

sara?cuss the latest is misty who is an attorney who goes to court, and you have been there. >> yes, i do. >> and now, the picture there, and there is a huge hole in bath tub, and it has been cut awayk a ap -- and what in the world are they looking for and can the police do that and just walk away? >> yes, this warrant, i have gone through it with a fine-toothed comb, and the police are looking for evidence that could have been hidden for ten years, and looking for trophies of the victims and electronics, and all sorts of things are encompassed by the police, and when there is a valid police, they can go in to destroy items as long as it is reasonable. and so it was a deep dive into the house, and especially digging up the backyard and that is to link dna to the victims or potentially to other crimes that could have been committed and this search is really big search and reasonable under that standard. >> the estranged wife and family saying they knew nothing of this, and the prosecutor say
