some smart thieves out there, yeah. >>> hello, i'm sara donchey in for juliette today. what a heartbreaking situation in hawaii right now. wind driven wildfires tearing a path of destruction that really looks apocalyptic. it's the worst natural disaster to hit hawaii in more than 30 years. the fires have killed more than six people on maui, forcing hundreds of evacuations, wiping out a historic tourist town. these fires are partly fueled by strong winds from hurricane dora, which is passing a safe distance to the south of the island. but it has sparked gusts up to 80 miles per hour. the fires on maui are concentrated in two areas. on the west side, where there is the popular tourist destination of lahaina and an inland mountainous region. also a couple hundred homes threatened in a rural community on the big island. this all happened so incredibly fast. homes and businesses went up in flames in lahaina. you can see buildings on fire on front street. this is an area that a lot of people are familiar with, probably a lot of you here in the bay area. it's a main strip of s
