yesterday, white house spokesperson sara huckabee sanders changed the story around and said the idea started with the president. we still don't know the actual story behind what happened but it's becoming clear the white house vastly underestimated how americans would react and did not think about the optics of the firing at all. case in point, there have been a lot of comparisons between trump's actions and nixon's. still, you might think the white house would be careful not to mirror nixon in any way and yet the first opportunity reporters had to ask the president about the firing was the president sitting with former secretary of state henry kissinger president nixon's secretary of state. of all the people, the president's photo-op is with henry kissinger. then the president met with the russians in the oval office less than 24 hours after firing the head of the fbi. u.s. press was not allowed in so these are official pictures from the russian news agency which was allowed in. russian foreign secretary there and then this is the russian ambassador to the united states, kislyak. th
