capitol hill, john kelly, the chief of staff, gary cohen, who's been a key part of the tax reform talks. mark short, his legislative director. and sarah huckabee sanders, who to my knowledge is a relatively rare presence up here on capitol hill, so all of them coming to try to hammer out these final details. i would say the president's role in this is typically one of cheerleader. i mean, he and the white house often say he's here to crack a deal. i'm not sure i would necessarily characterize it that way behind the scenes. although i would say mitch mcconnell's office is attempting today to do that in public. they put out a statement. it's unrelated -- or rather legislatively policywise unrelated but tied together politically. there's another big deal on spending that they need to get to as well. and mcconnell sided with the president today in a state over chuck schumer and nancy pelosi who said they weren't going to attend that meeting. so they're behind closed doors now talking about tax reform. if senators come out and say that the president changed their mind one way or another, i'll be surprised the negotiations are ongoing, part
