sarah kate, thank you. what's your reaction, i think i can guess it, but talk to me about the supreme court decision and how do you feel about it. >> well, you know, today is the last day of pride and it's a dark day for pride. unfortunately, this is a narrow decision however it still is a decision in favor of discrimination in this country and not recognizing same sex marriages and allowing other peoples beliefs to facilitate how they engage in a business act. so i think it's, you know -- also, andrea, i want to build a little context to this. this has been a really tough year for us as lgbtq americans. there have been over 500 american anti-lgbtq bills proposed at the ledge s slaitive and then 75-plus have gone through into law. so this is sort of the cherry on this unfortunate cake of backlash against our community. >> nbc's marissa paritt just spoke to her web designer and her attorney lori smith. let's take a look at that. >> from day one all i wanted to stay consist with my beliefs. i want that for ev

. >> sarah kate, when they moved the merchandise, they said they were concerned because employees inwere being harassed and intimidated and real concerns of their safety. >> safety is a real concern. you know, when i was on meeting with them, welcome to lgbtq+ in america today. we are all concerned for our safety right now with these extremists i think we saw the biden administration up the level of fbi involvement for the lgbtq+ community and homeland security. i remember that they were being threatened when mask wearing was mandatory and there was a lot of violence threatened against these folks. they didn't back down. what they did was they increased security and increased the way they handle it and trained folks on the ground. there were other ways to manage this that would have been proactive. >> sarah kate, have you spoken with target and the folks at bud light and others about this? what is the reaction you get when you make the case that you just made to our audience about what is happening here >> i think my feeling is they may splits decisions they weren't seeing the cultur

joining me now is glad ceo president, sarah kate ellis. sarah, i'm glad to have you here.rms a failing guard at lgbtq users online harassment last year. first of all explain how you quantified the scores and how these platforms continue to fail in protecting lgbtq people. n protecting lgbtq people thank you for having me. yes this is the third year in a row that they're all failing. however i will say, we have seen incremental improvement i think we are just helping them stop role really far back. what i mean by that is i think if we weren't holding them accountable, they wouldn't care. they are wired to make money. monetizing hate and vitriol. that is their business model, actually. trying to get them to do the right thing has been incredibly hard. the ramifications at this house on society on human rights, is extraordinary. you can draw a direct line from what happens and manifest likes the cancer, online. it metastasizes and, before you know where, off line there are violent threats against our community. attacks against our community. i'm glad we have counted over 160
