" iowa city - for molly hillery a decision to eat healthier and exercise more often morphed into an eating disorder that soon consumed " " it took more control of my life, and it became way more than healthy eating and losing weight," hillery said. "it became an obsession." hillery beben restricting hehedaily food intake as part of that obsession following her graduation from the university of iowa. she said the lack of nutrition affected her mood, behavior, and ability to work - and soon her friends and co- workers noticed. "things like isolating myself more, not wanting to hang out with friends, or go out to eat because it involved food, being more distant a a just unhappy,"he said, describing patterns pointed out loved ones. th's when hillery asked for help. a doctor diagnosed her with anorexia, which began a journey to two separate, out-of- state, residential treatment centers. but she said the hardest part was always returning home to iowa city, where daily stressors like bills, work, and recovery.
