cnn's sarah murray is standing by for us in denver where donald trump is expected to speak any moment. we have pamela brown live in washington. the attorney general says she understands why this meeting with bill clinton raises questions. what assurances did she give this is not going to affect the investigation into hillary clinton? >> the attorney general, loretta lynch, did seek to alay any concerns in the investigation by saying her team of career prosecutors will ultimately decide what happens and she will accept whatever that decision is. initially, during this forum, she seemed to leave some wiggle room and then went on to say she will accept them. despite calls for her to be recused loretta lynch said, that won't happen. >> the recusal would mean i wouldn't be briefed on what the findings were or the actions going forward would be. i don't have a role in those findings or coming up with those findings or making recommendati recommendations as to how to forward, i will be briefed on it and i will be accepting their recommendations. >> lynch said she made this decision to leave

let's begin with cnn sarah murray. a lot of highly anticipated speakers tonight. >> that's right. tonight looks like more previous conventions we have seen in the past. we'll see a number of donald trump's former rivals on stage. you mentioned ted cruz. we're going to see scott walker. we'll see a video message from marco rubio and in addition to that we're going to see donald trump's running mate, mike pence come out here. this is an opportunity for him to introduce himself to the broader american public and talk about what he did as governor of indiana and talk about the two of them as the ticket of change going up against hillary clinton and whoever she chooses as her running mate. we know throughout the week, one of the most exciting moments for the trump campaign has been able to feature donald trump's own relatives. one of the criticisms is there's been a lack of diversity. people are saying this does not look like the republican party we hope to turn it into from 2012 to 2016. that will be a little different. >> the trump campaign and gop are really hoping
