i think sarah palin would have had a better chance.voting, she would have a better chance, especially in the special election when they vie for the full-time seat. alaska, one of the few places that implemented this approach. it was implemented in part by lisa murkowski will have a better chance in her race and her re-election chances because of this voting system. but it's not the only state that does this. i think you look at some place like virginia, governor glen young won to this system. it's understandable that many republicans are angry about it because it gave mary petola a leg up here. and broadly looking at this race, it shows how the republican cannot take a lazy approach. palin was embracing donald trump. but they didn't do much to boost them in this race and what led to the rise of petola. it will be interesting to see if petola can hold this ahead of the general election as they vie in a couple months. but it was a huge win and a huge success for democrats. >> daniel, i want to go to you on the broader picture and what it
