sarah sampson, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. police all looking for a group of men who attacked a teenager near patterson park. this happened on sunday. they jumped 819-year-old along east baltimore street. police found him shot multiple times. he died later that evening. another shooting on monday night. police say someone shot a 15- year-old male in the leg. in baltimore county, police are searching for three men involved in a kidnapping and car crash. a man was heading to his car when he was attacked late thursday night. the trio forced to wait into the car and drove off with the victim inside. the vehicle was crashed in timonium. anyone with information should contact maryland state police. >> reginald baker and james harrison are charged with assault in the beating of student john mckenna. police initially charged mckenna with attacking horses, but those charges were later dropped. >> i lost sleep over it. it was sickening. to see that kid to get beat to that amount of severity. >> the trial is expected to last a week. >> t

reporting live in ocean city, i'm sarah sampson. >> b.g.e. crews have been busy preparing for the storm and we're joined by b.g.e. spokesperson rob gold. you've been making all kind of preparations. >> we've requested 2,000 out-of-state utility workers. we've got good line of sight on 1300 of those folks en route from as far away as new mexico, texas, louisiana, oklahoma and we'll bed them down and get them place. they should start arriving tomorrow and we'll put them at one of four staging areas. so the goal is to have them in place ready to respond once the storm hits so they can begin restoration. >> what can residents do ahead of the storm? >> what i'm going to do today, go home, take the stuff off the deck, try to put it away, make sure you don't have projectiles out there but from a power situation, make sure that you have all your contingencies in place, a backup plan, flashlights, portable radio. if you use a portable generator, move it away from the home, not near window or the garage because fumes can back up and become deadly. >> w

sarah sampson is in ocean city tonight, where residents could be on the front line of the storm. george is in the low-lying areas of fell's point as people are gathering sandbags. but let's go to our meteorologist who is tracking the storm. john, what's the latest? >> well, sandy is a hurricane, marginal, category one, with 75-mile-an-hour winds, a little better than 300 miles away from cape hatteras. here's what the weather looks like for us. we had the cold front to the west and all that moisture coming up from the south from sandy. but it's kind of held down to the extreme southeast virginia, the mouth of the chesapeake bay. we've had a very nice afternoon this afternoon so far. let's switch over to our main computer and here are the various tracks. we still got a variety of solutions, but most of them converge on new jersey. i want to kind of focus now, instead of having two or three of these little spinning symbols about where various models talk, the three main models, the european, the g.f.s. and the nam are coming in at the same place, central or northern new jersey, and
