kron 4 sarah stinson has the very latest. >> neighbors say they're shaken up. they did not expect something like this to happen in their normally safe neighborhood and same with police. they haven't investigated a homicide since 2021. it's extremely shocking because stuff like that doesn't happen here. a tragic scene unfolding in this quiet sunnyvale neighborhood around 5.30, monday morning. neighbors called 9-1-1 reporting screamingoand gunshots coming from a home on care. strike the sunnyvale department of public safety says when officers arrived, they found 2 women shot in the car outside the home. tragically, one of victims did not survive. >> the other victim was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital for treatment. police say the woman is expected to recover. she was able to tell officers them and what kind of car he s- drove off shortly after police tried to pull over the suspected shooter, but he fled leading to a pursuit, but it ended after they lost sight of him. less than an hour later, santa clara county sheriff's deputies found the man i

i'm sarah stinson reporting in sunnyvale.to you. >> well, the corner for contra costa county will be holding an inquest into the shooting death of a man by oakley police. it was on august 22nd of last year that officers were in a standoff with 58 year-old frank anthony korea of oakland. he was holed up in his house after his girlfriend called police to say he was armed and threatening to shoot them. both after she escaped korea opened fire on police. that's when one officer fired back striking and killing him. this week's inquest, which will happen friday at the wakefield taylor courthouse in martinez is required any time an officers involved in a fatal shooting. in the south bay. the santa clara sheriff's office is now investigating a homicide after a woman's body was found on the side of the road in san jose. deputi were called to the mount pleasanton road and valey ridge lane area where a woman was found unresponsive. she was later pronounced dead. this is an active investigation. no word yet on a motive or a suspect. >> a

kron 4 sarah stinson joining us live now in the studio with reaction from the community. sarah. >> giannis to old guy who also went by john died in august just days after getting attacked by the suspect. i spoke with a man who lives in the richmond district. he says the community is relieved. the man accused of john's death is off the streets and they're hopeful justice will be served. it's been 2 months since the death of a clerk of a shop in san francisco's richmond district. >> 6 year-old johan us to aldi was beaten with a baseball bat when he tried to stop a shoplifter. he did not get to go home because somebody decided not only that they would steal from the store, but that what they were taking was worth his life. san francisco district attorney brooke jenkins announced charges against 22 year-old santos de la rosa, who was arrested in hollister on wednesday. de la rosa was arraigned on thursday where a judge denied him bail after the da's office called de la rosa a risk to public safety. the main perpetrator was caught. >> and off and he's off the streets. i mean, f
