we'll be speaking to our correspondent sarah walton who is at the scene, shortly. the nhs in england has set out plans to stop hundreds of thousands of patients every year receiving treatments deemed "ineffective or too risky". haemorrhoid surgery and treatment for varicose veins are among the procedures that will be restricted under the proposals. it's expected to save the nhs an estimated £200 million a year. katherine stanczyszyn reports. some nhs treatments could be about to become much rarer. plans are being drawn up by nhs england to limit options that they say are ineffective or too risky. it's drawn up a list of 17 procedures, including surgery to treat snoring, tonsillitis or varicose veins, knee arthroscopy is for osteoarthritis, and steroid injections for nonspecific back pain.
