ainsley: joining us now with more is that daughter and ruby ridge survivor sarah weaver.you. thanks for being on with us. >> good morning. thank you so much for having me. it's an honor. ainsley: thank you. i have watched part of this series and it's unbelievable. for folks who don't remember what happened to your family in 1992. tell them a summary of what happened that day. >> it was over an 11-day standoff, actually. where i ended up losing my little brother sam who was 14 to an altercation with the u.s. marshal service. he was shot and killed and then my mother the very next day was shot by a government sniper. ainsley: why were they investigating your dad? >> they wanted to recruit him to become an informant for them and he refused. ainsley: and so, as a result, they started shooting at him and your family? >> oh, there is so much to this story that led up to that it's a whole lot to try and cover in a few short minutes. there is more that can be found for sure. i have written a couple books about it. it's something years and years and years to try to understand and
